Peace is a state of tranquillity or quiet: freedom from civil disturbance:  a state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom. It is freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions, harmony in personal relations. It is a state or period of mutual concord between governments:  a pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity. Peace is also used interjectionally to ask for silence or calm, or as a greeting or farewell. Peace is a state of concord or tranquillity…

Peace is something we all desire,

and it comes in many forms, whether it be in our personal lives, or on the world stages. Many have been the times over the years that I have sat with a friend who feels the world is closing in on them, and that there is no hope. Many have been the times when I have been in the same position. And then, I look out my window and gaze up into the sky and I see the steadfastness of the sun in its continual struggle to bring us warmth, and I am comforted. I turn to myself, and to my friends, and say: “No matter how terrible it may seem, the sun still shines behind the clouds.”

tinkerbell.1Take a moment today, a peaceful moment in the midst of the hustle and bustle of your daily life, and think of all the things you have to be grateful for, of all the things that bring you peace – then embrace one of them and allow the warmth to flow through you. It just takes a moment…

Have a wonderful day, dear Facebook family – your Writer on the Run is going to take a moment…
