What Did I Do
Over The Weekend
That Is Worthy Of
Mentioning?
Well, regardless of what you heard, no, I did not do that!
What that is, I will leave up to your imagination!
Now, I guess I will start my weekend out with what I did on Friday, because that is the day that leads into the weekend; and, as a self-employed writer, I feel I can begin and end my weekend with whatever day I want to.
Friday morning was filled with the usual hustle and bustle of a writer: checking FB, catching up on word games, chatting on FB with a couple of people, getting off FB, playing one game of: solitaire, spider solitaire, and free cell (an early morning ritual of mine), scribbling out a few pages on the new vampire novel, and then all of a sudden realizing that if I didn’t get my butt into gear, I was going to be late for a lunch date!
Off I charged, to Shoeless Joe’s, where they have Gluten Free burgers and buns – although I skipped the bun and had a naked burger with slim green beans sidling up close to it. It was good to catch up with a friend I hadn’t seen for a few months: we discussed what had transpired in our lives, and what was transpiring on the social media front. However, time charged on and we had to part company. I checked my watch – I had an hour before I had to be to my next great event.
Dropping into the Staple’s store, I purchased the envelopes I needed – not the exact size, but I figured a way to improvise – and then wandered the store ending up in the keyboard isle, trying to establish which keyboard would suit my needs, and wondering why the hell they all cost so much now!
Suddenly, my cellphone rang: “Mary, are you coming?”
I look at my watch – it is now 2:55 – my hour was definitely up. I had to be somewhere at 3:00.
“On my way!”
I was to my next destination by 3:10 – a nice presentation of cirque performances by some young ladies and gentlemen down at the Brantford Art’s Block – you might want to check the Art’s Block out some time…
Well, from there, I headed home. Supper with hubby. Couch with computer and “Night’s Temptress” begging to be finished. You are so close, she breathed in my ear, and then nuzzled my neck!
While hubby took a much needed nap, I wrote furiously – by hand – the ink pouring from my pen onto the paper – all night! I even managed, as I wrote, to watch a 3-1/2 hour movie, “Australia,” which I had wanted to see for a long time. Of course, Hugh Jackman would be an inspiration to anyone – even if it was Nicole Kidman who ended up with him – in the movie!
At 11:30 on Friday night, I wrote the final sentence of the first draft of “Night’s Temptress!”
Goodnight folks – shutting down…
Well, I hope I haven’t bored you too much – I am going to end this post, because this writer actually has to run right now – talk to you all tomorrow…
