Murder on the Grand
Price range: $5.99 through $18.00
It’s early morning on the Grand River trail, and three high school students discover a dead body. There is no evidence of bullet or knife wounds, which baffles the ME.
A few days later, another body shows up on the trail, but the MO differs.
When a third body is found near the trails, with the same MO as the first victim, the police begin to think they might be dealing with a serial killer.
As victims begin to pile up, so do the suspects. Will the Brantford detectives working the case be able to solve the murders before there are more victims?

The fresh air felt good on his face, cooling the man’s fever for what he was about to do. He staggered for effect, wanting the young man to think he was drunk. The young man motioned to the left as they approached the Lorne Bridge’s beginning.
“My friend’s tent is that way, so I guess we part ways here.” The young man staggered, almost falling. “Wow! I must have had a bit too much to drink. Doesn’t usually affect me this way.”
The man reached out and took his companion by the elbow, steadying him. “I’ll walk you to your tent,” he suggested.
“Don’t bother yourself; I’m fine.”
“It’s no problem at all. Come on – let’s cross. The light just turned green for us.”

“We got a homicide,” Kevin greeted Samantha with the news before she was barely in the door of their shared office.
“Who? Where?” Samantha asked, throwing her keys on the desk before turning on her computer.
“Body was found on the big rocks down by the Grand River. Hasn’t been identified yet.” A pause. “No I.D. on him.”
“Homeless?” Samantha raised her eyebrows questioningly.
“Nope – well, I don’t think so. But anything’s possible,” Kevin returned. “Young guy, so I was informed by the officers on the scene. Clean cut. Dressed neatly. Maybe around thirty-five or forty.”
“They want us out to the scene?”
“Just waiting for you to get here, princess,” Kevin smirked as he grabbed his jacket. “I’ll drive.”
